So you want to light up your home and you are not sure whether using black table lamps is the best way to achieve it. When someone walks into your house, the lighting is often the first impression that they get. It is important to make them feel warm and welcome at this time.
For many years, the normal way is to have a light in the center of the room hanging from the ceiling. This is fine when all you want to do is to see what you are doing, but is not always ideal if you want the room to look more fashionable and stylish.
Then you might consider a tall floor lamp strategically placed in a corner of the room. This can look extremely attractive but the downside is that it will take up useful apace and is not perfect if you are limited with the amount of area that you have available.

A black lamp stand with a red lampshade can look very striking in the right setting. Remember also that if you change the appearance of the whole room, it will be much cheaper to replace the lamps with a different color or even just put on a different color lampshade.
* Design – This is going to be a bigger challenge because there are so many options. If you want an old-fashioned look and feel, perhaps you should take a look at antique type or vintage table lamps. If your house is more modern, then you will need to choose a more up to date style.
* Space – We touched on this a little earlier and when you are limited in this way, you may not want to have wires everywhere and might consider buying some cordless table lamps which can make a room look a lot tidier.
* Which room – this is an obvious one but there are certain types for different rooms. It would not be right to add bedside table lamps in the kitchen. We know you wouldn’t actually do that. It does mean that you are going to have to check out several different styles for your whole house.
* Cost – It is nice to have so many choices but when you actually break it down the real limiting factor is that you have to buy what you can afford. It would be lovely to have expensive furniture in every room but we can’t all afford the list price range. Maybe we just have to save money with cheap table lamps.
